Premier Region in Europe
World famous because of the City of Light and activities such as tourism, luxury goods and haute couture, the Paris Region has a population of more than 11.9 million people and a GDP of over 572 million euros, making it the leading region in Europe, with an area of 12,000 km². This unparalleled economic power in Europe is also explained by the presence of a diversified network of economic activities, particularly in high technology or high value-added services. Paris Region also has the third largest global concentration of international company headquarters (Source: Fortune 500) and is the second city in the world city in terms of where multinational companies are based.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport serves the largest number of cities of any European airport.
